Rotaract Gives Back!

On September 26th – 28th at the Cayman Islands Healthcare Conference at the Ritz Carlton, the Rotaract Club of Grand Cayman gifted the Cayman Islands Blood Bank with a cooler to assist with mobile donations.

The Rotaract Club of Grand Cayman and it's sponsor club, Rotary Club of Grand Cayman Sunrise, fundraised $200 to purchase the cooler needed by the Blood Bank.

Club President Joel Porter stated that "It is an honour to be able to help such a necessary organisation save lives, and blood donations are always needed". Donating blood can not only save 3 lives but also rid your body of iron that can cause health complications and reduces your risk of heart disease and cholesterol.

In previous partnerships the Rotaract Club of Grand Cayman has organised around 3 awareness per year and members of the club give blood regularly.

Some other well-known projects the club is responsible for includes Brown Paper Bag and Ready Set Snack.

The Rotaract Club of Grand Cayman is a subdivision of the Rotary Club of Grand Cayman Sunrise who acts as their sponsor. The club targets young people between the ages of 18 – 30 and empowers them to give back through community service, fellowship and professional development oppprtunities.

If you are interested in donating blood, please visit bloodbank.ky or stop by the blood bank at the Health Services Authority for more information.
