Rough Seas expected Wednesday and Thursday
The National Weather Service has advised that a cold front is expected to becoming stationary over our area this evening.
Further north, the associated high pressure over the southeast US will build and support moderate to fresh northeasterly winds and roughs seas across the Cayman area from this evening. Radar images show isolated showers in and around the Cayman area moving towards the northwest.
Tomorrow we can expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with a 40% chance of showers.
Winds will be northeast at 20 to 25 knots in the day, increasing to 25 to 30 knots at night
The sea will be rough with wave heights of 5 to 7 feet in the day, and 7 to 9 feet at night.
A Small craft warning will be in effect .
The severe weather notification indicates that a tightening of the pressure gradient across the Northwest Caribbean will result in increased wind speeds to near Gale Force conditions across the Cayman Islands from Wednesday morning.
