Seniors Rock Dress Down Day Brings Cayman Together in a Sea of Orange, Raising $30,236.81 for Seniors

Meals on Wheels Cayman Islands (MOW) is celebrating the success of its 2026 Seniors Rock Dress Down Day, which brought together businesses, schools, service clubs, and community supporters across Grand Cayman in a vibrant show of orange and support for local seniors.

This year, nearly 40 companies, schools, and service clubs participated in the annual initiative, encouraging their teams, students, and members to wear orange and proudly “rock” their Seniors Rock shirts in support of Meals on Wheels.

Through shirt sales and donations, the event raised an incredible CI$$30,236.81, helping MOW continue providing nutritious meals, wellness checks, and meaningful connection to seniors across the Cayman Islands.

The day officially launched on the steps of the Government Administration Building, where Civil Servants, including leading government officials from the Ministry of Social Development, the Deputy Governor’s office, Ministry of Tourism & Trade gathered with MOW staff to kick off Seniors Rock before MOW continued throughout the day visiting participating businesses, schools, and community partners. From offices and classrooms to community spaces across the island, Cayman was awash in orange as supporters showed that a simple shirt can represent something much bigger: ensuring that seniors in our community are seen, valued, and supported.

Over 300 students and staff took part in Seniors Rock at Prospect Primary School which included dressing down and a food drive that collected close to nonperishable 1,000 items. We believe in teaching our children the importance of compassion, service and gratitude. We are proud to support Meals on Wheels Cayman and celebrate the 2026 Seniors Rock Dress Down Day, honouring the seniors who have contributed so much to our community. Our seniors truly rock!” said Prospect Primary School Deputy Principal, Troy Rodgers.

“We are incredibly grateful to everyone who showed up, dressed up, donated, and helped us make Seniors Rock such a success,” said Jennifer West, CEO of Meals on Wheels Cayman Islands. “Seeing so much orange across our community was a wonderful reminder of what happens when Cayman comes together for our seniors. Thanks to the Butterfield sponsorship, 100% of the funds raised will help us continue the work that matters most—making sure seniors have access to nutritious meals, regular wellness checks, and the connection and care they deserve.”

Mike McWatt, Managing Director, Butterfield Bank (Cayman) Limited stated that “As a longstanding sponsor of the Seniors Rock initiative in support of the Meals on Wheels (MOW) community programmes, we are pleased to once again partner with MOW to help raise awareness of the vital services they provide to elderly and vulnerable members of our community. We are proud to support an organisation whose work makes a meaningful difference in the lives of so many Cayman residents.”

Meals on Wheels Cayman Islands extends its heartfelt thanks to all participating individuals, organizations, sponsors, businesses, schools, service clubs, volunteers, donors, and community members who helped make Seniors Rock 2026 a success.
