St. Ignatius Catholic School Recognises Outstanding 2025–2026 Examination Results

St. Ignatius Catholic School would like to recognise the outstanding achievements of its students in the 2025–2026 examination season, with another strong set of I/GCSE, AS and A Level results reflecting the dedication, resilience and academic commitment of students and staff across the school.

Across the school, students achieved the strongest IGCSE, AS and A Level Outcomes recorded over the past three years highlighting a sustained culture of academic excellence, continuous improvement and a commitment to helping every student reach their full potential.

Students at IGCSE delivered an exceptional set of results, achieving 56% of grades at A*-A, 82% at A*-B and 97% at A*-C. Notably, half of all students achieved five or more A*-A grades.

These outcomes represent the strongest IGCSE performance achieved by the school in the last three years and reflect the ambition, perseverance and dedication demonstrated by students throughout Key Stage 4.

This year also marked the school's largest-ever A Level cohort, with students achieving impressive results across a broad range of subjects.

At A Level, 46% of grades were awarded at A*–A, while 75% were A*–B and 94% were A*–C.

The Year 12 cohort also achieved an excellent set of AS Level results, with 44% of grades awarded at A, 68%  at A-B and 88% at A-C.

The school’s results are further strengthened by the exceptional progress made by students during their time at St. Ignatius. Analysis through A Level Performance System (“ALPS”), a widely used framework that measures the progress students make relative to their starting points and compares outcomes against UK benchmarks, indicates that Sixth Form students continue to perform exceptionally strongly. This reflects the school’s commitment to ensuring that every student is supported, challenged and equipped to achieve their potential.

The success of this year's graduates is also reflected in the impressive university destinations they have secured. Students will be progressing to some of the world's leading institutions, including Imperial College London, Princeton University, King's College London, the University of Edinburgh, the London School of Economics, University of Bristol and Durham University.

Other students have secured prestigious places at highly competitive programmes, including Medicine in the United Kingdom and a full Engineering scholarship to KAIST in South Korea.

These achievements demonstrate not only academic excellence, but also the breadth of opportunities available to St. Ignatius students as they prepare for higher education and future careers on the global stage. Mr. Benjamin Joannou, Senior Leader of Secondary stated, “This year’s examination results reflect a very strong performance across the school and are particularly encouraging when considered alongside the exceptional progress our students have made. These outcomes demonstrate the high standards our students continue to achieve and the strength of the support and teaching they receive throughout their educational journey.” Mrs. Madeleine St-Amour, Head of Sixth Form added, “We are incredibly proud of our Year 13 students, who achieved an exceptional set of results. Beyond the excellent grades, we are delighted to see students progressing to such a diverse range of prestigious universities and career pathways.”

The 2025–2026 examination results represent the culmination of years of hard work, perseverance and commitment from students, supported by the expertise and dedication of their teachers and the encouragement of their families.

St. Ignatius Catholic School extends its heartfelt congratulations to all students who completed their examinations. The school also recognises the dedication of its teachers, support staff and families, whose collective efforts continue to create an environment in which students are encouraged to achieve their very best.

These results are a source of great pride for the entire St. Ignatius community and reflect the school’s continued commitment to academic excellence, personal growth and developing confident, capable young people prepared to make a positive contribution to the world around them.

As the school celebrates the achievements and the further growth of the Sixth Form cohort, the school looks forward to building on this success as it continues to provide outstanding educational opportunities for students across the Cayman Islands.
