St. Ignatius Catholic secure fifth win in a row

Action from the Prospect Primary vs. St. Ignatius Catholic game.

Round 6 of the 2022 Inter-Primary Cricket Competition continued on Thursday, June 9 with games in Zone A making the headlines.

Regular season games have concluded in Zone B although there are a number of key postponed games still to be played prior to the third-place and final games, which are scheduled for Thursday, June 23 and Friday, June 24 respectively.

In Zone A, St. Ignatius Catholic secured their fifth win in a row with a 73 run to 71 run victory over Prospect Primary. In other scores, Edna Moyle Primary secured their first win of the season with a 102 run to 86 run victory over Theoline L. McCoy Primary and East End Primary defeated Joanna Clarke Primary 42 runs to 37 runs. Cayman Prep B were not scheduled to play.

The 2022 regular season concludes this Friday, June 10 with final Round 7 games in Zone A including East End Primary vs. Edna Moyle Primary (at Edna Moyle Primary), Joanna Clarke Primary vs. Prospect Primary (at Prospect Primary) and Cayman Prep B vs. St. Ignatius Catholic (at Cayman Prep). Theoline L. Mccoy Primary are not scheduled to play.

Cayman Prep B can secure top spot in Zone A with a victory over the unbeaten St. Ignatius Catholic but it won’t be easy as St. Ignatius Catholic have consistently put together a number of quality performances throughout the season.

In Zone B, the Prospect Primary vs. Theoline L. McCoy Primary game that was postponed on Friday, May 27 has been declared a draw as both schools are unable to replay the game.

The final is scheduled for Friday, June 24 as the winners of Zone A face the Zone B winners to decide the 2022 Inter-Primary Cricket Competition champions and the third-place game will be played on Thursday, June 23 with the runners-up in Zone A playing the runners-up in Zone B. Both games are scheduled for the Annex Field

The Inter-Primary Cricket Competition is organised and coordinated by the Department of Education Services and the Department of Sports and sponsored by CUC and the Cayman Cricket Association.

Parents and supporters are encouraged to come out and cheer on our young cricketers.
