The lifting of lockdown restrictions and the subsequent reenergising of our locals-only tourism industry has seen a good many high-end resorts and accommodations lower their pricing to entice residents to enjoy a much-needed staycation. The Kimpton Seafire Resort + Spa is probably the most sought-after vacation location in the Cayman Islands. In fact, Condé Nast magazine readers voted it the third best resort in the Caribbean and the 36th best resort in the world last year. But while residents may have visited the property for dinner, brunch, weddings or conferences in the past, few will have been able to afford its premium rates… until now!
At the moment, staycationers can stay at this beautifully designed resort for prices starting at CI$199 (plus CI$30 resort fee and 10% service charge), which is a substantial discount on regular prices. Just email Reservations@seafireresortandspa.com or call 746 4000 to book up. It’s an ideal location for families, with a beautiful stretch of Seven Mile Beach on vacationers’ doorstep and pets welcome at the resort as well. Kids can enjoy their own specially laid on set of activities at the Camp Seafire, which runs full-day, half-day and evening programmes. This would be a great time for mums and dads to whizz off to the spa for a bit of ‘me-time’ and definitely worth the effort of getting up off the sun lounger.
Guests can enjoy use of the pool, beach and all non-motorised watersports during their stay. There is no shortage of great eating spots within the resorts, so guests can easily make the Kimpton their home for the duration of the stay. Dine on property, either at Coccoloba, their beachfront laid back restaurant that is the perfect spot for a bit of sunset-watching, or AVE, where their special 345 Menu lets diners enjoy three Mediterranean courses for just $45. If you stay on a Sunday, there is always the option to take part in the resort’s popular brunch.
Even if you cannot afford or commit the time for a full-on staycation, the Kimpton is also offering residents a special Day Getaway at the resort, whereby guests can reserve a chaise lounge or cabana and get full enjoyment of the resort’s lovely beach and pool area. So, if you are strapped for cash or time, you can at least still enjoy a little much-needed escapism, even if it’s just for a day.
