TechCayman’s Summer Program for Caymanians Heading to University

TechCayman, a prominent Cayman Islands services company that fosters technological innovation, recently created a summer internship program designed to give young Caymanians leaving for university, first-hand foundational skills for working in a professional setting.

18-year-old Katriona Williams began her internship with TechCayman in early June.

“When I originally started my internship, I knew very little about TechCayman,” said Katriona.

“Throughout my internship, I had the chance to get involved in a variety of aspects of the business. I learned many different administrative tasks, got to assist with a marketing campaign, met many interesting people and got to help with TechCayman’s Robotics camp. It was heartening to see how much the young participants enjoyed the program.” Katriona added, “I really appreciate the opportunities and useful skills I received from this internship. I also see why a welcoming environment makes such a difference. Having fun while working hard was a new concept for me.”

Operations and Business Development Manager, Jennifer McCarthy spoke about why this type of internship is important to TechCayman. “We wanted to make the most impact we could, while having only a short period of time. Many students leave for university academically equipped but have not yet had a chance to develop necessary soft-skills or basic workplace know-how. We wanted to create an opportunity to arm young Caymanians with some practical, hands-on experience in a positive and encouraging environment, before they start the next chapter in their lives.”

TechCayman is a concierge service provider located in the Cayman Islands that offers new and existing international tech companies an accelerated pathway to operating in the Cayman Islands.  The advantages of TechCayman come with a unique combination of support services designed to accelerate organizational growth, access to funding, and a simple immigration procedure for employees. By relocating tech businesses to the Cayman Islands, it creates new opportunities for Caymanians in a rapidly expanding industry. To learn more, visit www.techcayman.com.
