The Department of Labour & Pension Launches New Online Leave Calculators

The Department of Labour and Pensions (DLP) is pleased to introduce new online Leave Calculators, designed to provide the public with a quick, easy way to check their vacation and maternity leave entitlements — all from the comfort of their device.

These new features will help persons navigate their entitlements, as per the Labour Act (2021 Revision), with ease and accuracy without needing to call or visit the DLP office.

How It Works:

1. Visit www.gov.ky/dlp

2. Under the “Resources” tab, select Calculators.

3. After reading a brief disclaimer, users are taken to a secure, DLP-approved web application.

4. Input your employment period, and the calculator will quickly generate your leave entitlement.

Users should note that the conclusions reached by the calculators rely on the accuracy of the data inputted by the user.

Director Bennard Ebanks emphasized the DLP’s continued innovation efforts to improve user engagement and the way services are delivered. “By digitizing processes, we not only enhance the customer experience by streamlining processes and providing real-time updates, but, we also contribute to our sustainability efforts by reducing paper usage.”

The DLP is committed to data privacy and security and any information or data entered is not retained by the DLP. These calculators will also be regularly updated and refined based on user feedback which can be shared by emailing DLP@gov.ky .

Relevant information on the Labour and Pensions legislation can be found on DLP’s Facebook and Instagram pages by way of weekly posts.

Questions can be directed to DLP@gov.ky  or call the main office at 945-8960 or make a report via the confidential tip line on 945-3073.
