The University College of the Cayman Islands (UCCI) has today announced that President and CEO Dr. Robert W. Robertson, will be stepping down from his role to pursue new professional opportunities.
Chairman Gilbert McLean, on behalf of the Board of Governors at the University College of the Cayman Islands, expresses his thanks to President Dr. Robert W Robertson, for his service to the institution. Dr Robertson is stepping down to pursue other interests and UCCI will be looking to recruit a new President.
Mr. McLean states “We wish Dr. Robertson well as he moves on to other opportunities and thank him for his service.”
Dr. Robertson notes that UCCI has achieved so much as a team including the expansion of academic partnerships and programmes, deepening relationships with community partners, and advancing sustainability and innovation across the institution. Other key examples include institutional and professional reaccreditations, implementing a new student information system, completing a campus master plan and sustainability plan, and successfully completing the RESEMBID climate change and resilience grant which has assisted UCCI in developing its brand as a leader in environmental and sustainability efforts regionally and globally. In addition, significant efforts were made to support faculty and staff in upskilling to meet the emerging challenges impacting the education sector.
Dr. Robertson states that “I would like to thank all of the Faculty and Staff at UCCI for the wonderful opportunity to work with such a dedicated and talented team focused on serving our students.
Also, thank you to the Chairman and members of the Board for the leadership and guidance during my tenure at UCCI, and to the Corporate Management team for their support and dedicated service.
It has been a privilege and an honour to serve as President and CEO of the University College of the Cayman Islands.”
