Venus stages netball for all again

The Venus Netball Club has an event soon and Cayman’s players are honing their skills for this keenly anticipated competition.

The Open Tournament is on Saturday, 26 September from 4pm at the Truman Bodden Sports Complex. Admission is free, and the event features divisions for U12, U16, U21, seniors, male, mixed, and women’s teams.

Netball is thriving in the Cayman Islands, evidenced by the Cayman Netball Association recently celebrating the successful completion of its 2026 Netball Summer Camp, held at the Truman Bodden Netball Courts. The sport will also enjoy fresh energy after revealing its newly elected Cayman Netball executive committee.

The summer camp welcomed children between the ages of 6 and 16 from across the Cayman Islands for an exciting programme focused on skill development, teamwork, confidence and a shared love of netball. It was wonderful to see young athletes of varying ages come together, learn new skills and build friendships both on and off the court.

“As the newly elected President of the Cayman Netball Association, it was incredibly exciting to see so many children full of enthusiasm and passion for the sport,” said President Teneisha Wilson. “With the support of our newly elected Executive Committee, I am committed to creating more opportunities for young players and continuing to grow netball’s presence and prominence throughout the Cayman Islands.”
