Water Authority-Cayman Invites Public Bids on Surplus Vehicles and Equipment
Water Authority–Cayman is inviting members of the public to participate in a sealed- bid auction for a selection of surplus and obsolete vehicles and equipment from its Grand Cayman and Cayman Brac operations.
Thirteen lots are available across both islands, including Ford pick-up trucks, SUVs, a Ford F-450 crane truck, New Holland backhoes, a tilt trailer, a Freightliner chassis, and miscellaneous equipment. Reserve prices range from $0 to $7,500, with all items sold as-is.
Viewing opportunities
Members of the public are encouraged to inspect items before submitting a bid.
Items based in Grand Cayman may be viewed at the Wastewater Treatment Plant, located at the end of Seymour Drive adjacent to the landfill, on Thursday, 25 June and Friday, 26 June 2026, between 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM.
Items located in Cayman Brac may be viewed at West End on Friday, 26 June 2026, between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM.
How to bid:
The Auction List and Bid Application Form are available from www.waterauthority.ky, or in person from the Authority's Grand Cayman reception at 13G Red Gate Road, George Town and the Cayman Brac reception at #1 Avistar Building, West End. Applicants must submit one sealed bid per item, addressed to WAC – Vehicle & Equipment Auction 2026, and delivered to the Authority’s reception nearest to them no later than 12:00 noon on Friday, 3 July 2026.
Bids will be evaluated by the Authority’s Internal Tender Committee, with the highest bid per item declared the winner. Successful bidders will be contacted within three business days of evaluation. Payment must be received within five business days of notification, after which the buyer will have 48 hours to remove the item from WAC's compound.
All sales are final and items are sold as-is.
