GraceKennedy Money Services (GKMS), agents of Western Union, is supporting the National Children’s Voluntary Organization (NCVO) through the sponsoring of the entity’s “Meals Programme” and other initiatives.

Under the programme, GKMS will initially donate Five Thousand United States Dollars ($5000) worth of Grace Food products to the NCVO. This donation is the first of many to come, as GKMS has pledged to support the most vulnerable – the children of Cayman.

“We truly believe that the children are our future, and as such we reached out to the NVCO to secure this partnership as a Meals Programme sponsor.  We firmly believe that the success of our business is tied to the community’s success so sponsorships of this nature is something we will continue to do,” said Diandra Shand-Ogbe, Business Network Officer of GKMS Cayman.

Meanwhile the NCVO are grateful for the assistance from GKMS Cayman. “The United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) aim to achieve decent lives for all on a healthy planet by 2030 and Goal number ‘TWO’ is ZERO HUNGER” and only with partners like GKMS can we achieve this for our most vulnerable children in the Cayman Islands. The NVCO hopes to continue to grow this gracious GKMS food sustainability initiative into a multi-year sustainable donation and financial support project and we thank the GraceKennedy family of companies for their global community spirit of giving,” said Pamela Webster of NCVO.

The NCVO has been teaching, feeding, and nurturing Cayman’s children (from age 4 months old to age 17) as a not-for-profit since 1974 when the NCVO was co-founded by a National Council of community-minded citizens supported by Mr. Richard “Dick” Arch and Miss Olive Miller, OBE.

GKMS have had the Western Union franchise in Cayman since 2015, and today have eight locations with another opening at BarCam Esso in November. GKMS is also the Western Union franchise holder in 10 other Caribbean territories including Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago and Guyana.
