Police Respond to Disturbance at Seven Mile Public Beach

Shortly after 2:30PM on Wednesday afternoon, 13 December, officers responded to a report of a disturbance at the Seven Mile Public Beach. Police attended the location and made inquiries. As a result, a man age 49 of Bodden Town, was arrested on suspicion of insulting the modesty of a woman.

Whilst at the location, police had reason to suspect that persons were consuming drugs and illegally selling alcohol. A search was conducted of persons, and no illegal substances were found. However, police recovered alcoholic beverages in a cooler at the location which appeared to be intended for illegal sales.

Police are liaising with partners at the Department of Commerce and Investment and the Public Lands Commission, to investigate the allegations of illegal selling of liquor and the sale/consumption of ganja at the location.
