The National Hurricane Center continues its advisories on Tropical Storm Melissa.
The official forecast track takes the system South-Southeast of Jamaica as a possible Hurricane on Saturday, 25 October.
A westward motion is expected, and the system could become a Major Hurricane on Monday, 27 October, when forecasted to be South to Southwest of Jamaica. Following that, the NHC is forecasting a possible west to north-west motion into Tuesday, 28 October.
The recent update puts the cone of uncertainty at 5 days, within the Cayman area possibly early next week. While the system poses no immediate threat at this time, residents are encouraged to remain cautious and prepared in the event of a shift in the projected path.
Given the uncertainty of how this system will ultimately track, residents are urged to continue to closely monitor the updates using official channels of information.
