The Cayman Islands 3x3 teams and coaches

The men’s team won two bronze medals

The Cayman Islands Men’s National 3x3 Basketball Team performed brilliantly in the FIBA 3x3 Caribbean Cup in Nassau, Bahamas, earning a bronze medal at Stop 2 of the tournament.

They returned home on Monday celebrating the historic medal grab.

Representing the men representing the Cayman Islands were Daric Ebanks, Alwin Buttrum Jr, Nathaniel Anderson and Bryan Ebanks.

The women’s 3x3 national team featured Vivian Worrell, Arleny Ebanks, Atira White and Jaymie Rankin.

Cayman competed with five other top Caribbean nations in a week of elite competition and development. Cayman went head-to-head with teams from the Bahamas, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, St Lucia and Haiti.

In Saturday’s action, Cayman men defeated Trinidad and Tobago 13–8, followed by a thrilling 12–11 win over host nation Bahamas, before falling 15–10 to Jamaica. The results secured third place at Stop 2, giving Cayman podium finishes in both stops of the inaugural Caribbean Cup.

The victories were historic, marking the first-ever 3x3 wins for Cayman over both Trinidad and Tobago and the Bahamas. With bronze medals from Stop 1 and Stop 2, the men’s team were one of the tournament’s standout performers.

In the women’s division, the Cayman Islands Women’s National 3x3 Team faced stiff competition, falling to Haiti 13–0 and later to Jamaica 21–1, who went on to claim the championship. Despite the results, the women’s team gained valuable experience competing against the region’s best.

The regional event included a high-performance training camp, a competitive 3x3 tournament, and development workshops for coaches, referees, and team managers.

Coaching the delegation were Duran Whittaker, Wendy Manzanares, Cory McGee and Victor O’Garro. Kadane Hall served as team manager, with Gregory Hamilton officiating as referee.

It’s been a busy end of year period for the men’s and women’s national teams because they competed in the 2025 FIBA 3×3 AmeriCup in León, Mexico at the end of November.
